1. Find a famous OIL PAINTING artwork that embodies your concept. Record the credit line information for the artwork. Post an image of the artwork with the blog post.
2. Describe the artwork... As if you were describing it to someone who couldn't see it. (Be sure to include the Elements of Art and Principles of Art that are utilized in the artwork).
There is nude woman standing beside a swan, who is wrapping a wing around her. The woman is looking down/ admiring at her newborns that hatched out of swan eggs...
The background is of a monument pillar[?]/abandoned house[?] and simple tall grass and lush forests in distance. Also a small town is shown.
Line is used for the buildings in the middle background and far background. Mostly vertical. But the main use of line is used for curves on the woman and children. The color scheme for the humanoid figures create harmony, and their lighter color/hue gives and emphasis throughout the portrait. There is sort of an awkward balance but it still works.
3. Discuss why you choose this artwork.
Because I saw in a art history book I own, and it had many sculptures located in a Florence Museum in Italy. Plus the story behind it is interesting and relates to my ancestors.
4. Discuss what you would change about this artwork and why.
That swan. It's not very majestic-like. Like not the sculptures that it depicts. It seems too dark and especially the beak. The background doesn't make sense to me and perhaps it could show a different scenery.
5. Your new CERAMICS... what are your thoughts about this... What are you planning on doing for your assignment? RESEARCH information about ADDITIVE SCULPTURE and HAND BUILDING
I think I've had enough of sculpture for a while. Feeling uneasy.
Plus, I have no clue what to do. I'll have to get assistance from my colleague...
