1. Find a famous artwork from the WPA : WORK PROGRESS ADMINISTRATION that embodies your concept.Record the credit line information for the artwork. Post an image of the artwork with the blog post.
2. Describe the artwork... As if you were describing it to someone who couldn't see it.
(Be sure to include the Elements of Art and Principles of Art that are utilized in the artwork).
There is a man in his thirties, wearing overalls, and a brown shirt, with a black shovel but at the blade, is red, white, blue stripe. Labeled WPA. He is Striking down a beast of some sort, looks like a mix with a lion and a wolf/dog. With reptilian-like tongue. It is label with the word, RUMOR. Has very light, almost faded out colours, dull. With interesting slight black hatchings for value. Barely any detail but strong has form. Almost flat-like. Very unbalanced.
3. Discuss why you choose this artwork.
Because my concept is mythology, and it would seem, thanks to a certain colleague, that mythology could also be nothing else than a rumor. Or rumors.
So, yeah.
4. Discuss what you would change about this artwork and why.
It needs to have a background. Maybe like a circular speed line. Those who known manga would know what I mean.
Maybe some stars.
Ya' know, 'Merica!
5. What was the WPA. List 3 facts about this time period. Do you think this program would work in current day society? Why?
The Works Progress Administration (renamed in 1939 as the Work Projects Administration; WPA) was the largest and most ambitious New Deal agency, employing millions of unemployed people (mostly unskilled men) to carry out public works projects,[1] including the construction of public buildings and roads. In a much smaller but more famous project, the Federal Project Number One, the WPA employed musicians, artists, writers, actors and directors in large arts, drama, media, and literacy projects.[1]
No. Because people are stupid and will believe anything now-a-days.
